Day 4 Lahinch to Galway (60 miles, 848m)
60 mile day along beautiful coastal roads. Also a day of glorious sun and dry weather taking in the Cliffs of Moher and on through the " The Burren”, a surreal landscape of Karster limestone. That night we'd stayed at a real favourite B&B, Craiglea Lodge . Lovely owners, lots of joshing (when asked what to do with some used tea mugs I was instructed to wash them up. Much to the owner's embarrassment, I proceeded to do so). Sophie managed to get away for 4 days with her Dad, but back to lectures tomorrow Although a magnet for tourists and coaches, the Cliffs of Moher were dramatic and well worth a detour. O'Brien's Tower Thistles were common. Would have been lovely to explore the cliffs over half a day... ...but had to get back to the bike. Fab lichen! Stunning views on both sides of the headland.
